Mouse and rat glue board trap
Glue traps for mice and rats are effective for fighting infestation of these rodents in both commercial and domestic premises, particularly where use of chemicals is prohibited or discouraged. Still many pest control operators prefer using glue traps in conjunction with their rodenticide programs.
Glue traps used for pest rodent control are simply boards covered with special glue. Some of those traps have baits placed in the middle of the glue field and some have pest-attractant scent dispersed throughout the glue and so no baiting is required. Traps are usually based in paths of rodents, intercepting them between their nesting site and food source.
The glue boards are ideal to use in food plants, kitchens, restaurants, food processing plants, hospitals, residences, zoos and other sensitive areas. These traps help to prevent spreading of associated disease carrying matter, such as rodent hairs, urine, faeces and ectoparasites (fleas).
Glue board traps come in different sizes, so mouse glue boards are not suitable for capturing rats, while rat glue trays and glue boards can be used for capturing and killing rats and mice. There are different kinds of glue on the market and everyone can make their own glue traps. On the other hand, there are finished glue trap boxes, making children or pet contact with glue a minimal possibility.
The main advantage of mouse and rat glue traps is that they have no poison to mankind, animal and domestic fowl and enable to control pests without toxic baits and poisons that can harm pets and children. They are easily handled and captured pests could be also easily disposed of.
The dark side of using glue boards is that not every mouse or rat you find captured is dead. Even if they are dead, they could have suffered several days of dehydration and died in pain. You could also have to kill those poor animals by yourself if there are any alive rodents on the board. So if you hate this kind of stuff, you should better try other products.
